Video Footage of Westpac Rescue Aero Medical Fitout

Flight Structures have developed a full aero medical installation for Westpac Rescue Auckland. The kit is in use on both their AW169 aircraft. Included in the footage is the RULS Stretcher Loading System, the THRULS Hospital Rotorcraft Trolley, a Stretcher Bridge System, Oxygen System and Storage Racks. The RULS and Oxygen System both have CAANZ STC.

We thank Westpac Rescue Auckland for allowing the footage to be taken. The RULS is a zero lift system where the stretcher is in a longitudinal position during flight to enable the best patient care, and rotates to transverse for loading from a stretcher trolley.

Thanks to Daniel Greenwood of Avocado Media for capturing the footage at Auckland Hospital and Ardmore Airport. Here is a link to Daniel’s details.

Trolley developed for AW169 Medical Fitout

Flight Structures has developed a trolley to work with the RULS (Rotorcraft Utility Loading System). The trolley can be transported in the locker of the aircraft so it is available wherever and whenever needed. The trolley can take a patient or an incubator and allows smooth zero lift loading. We have named the trolley the THRULS (Trolley for Hospital Rotorcrat Utility Loading System).

As seen below the THRULS is designed to integrate with the Lifeport Stretcher.

LEONARDO AW 169 – EMS – MEDICAL OXYGEN SYSTEM GAINS STC

It has been an extremely busy period for Flight Structures  and we are delighted that we gained a second AW169 STC in 2019.

Medical Oxygen STC achieved for Leonardo AW169

It has been an extremely busy period for Flight Structures  and we are delighted that we gained a second AW169 STC in 2019.  This system was developed in conjunction with Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT).  The system stores the oxygen cylinder remote from the main cabin, with access from an external door.  A contents monitor is in the main cabin which is visible by the medical crew from all seated positions.  A low pressure alarm and shut off valve are provided for added safety.  Two outlets in the ceiling can supply a ventilator and / or patient mask and are positioned perfectly to suit the patient on the Flight Structures RULS stretcher system.

There will be more details to come about other role equipment developed for this aircraft, allowing clinical staff to treat patients in flight to provide best medical outcomes.

Flight Structures is coming to the end of a large project for Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT) with an EMS fitout of their two new AW169 rotorcraft.
