BK117
The KHI/MBB BK-117 is a strong and versatile workhorse capable of performing efficiently and reliably in a multitude of roles.
Flight Structures is well renowned for our expertise with the BK117, due to involvement in significant upgrades to the powerplant, filtration system, cockpit, and development of role equipment. We have designed and developed a range of role equipment and airframe upgrades for the BK117, primarily focused on EMS and search and rescue roles. These products are all in service - and have performed in the demanding world of EMS. Some are available ‘‘off the shelf’’ and others will be manufactured to order.
Stretcher Loading System
The Flight Structures Stryker compatible system allows quick and simple transfer in and out of the helicopter.
Snow Shoes
Flight Structures' snow shoes distribute the skid weight for landing on soft terrain. Manufactured from wear resistant polymer they are proving to be a long lasting and cost effective solution.

High Density Seating
Flight Structures has developed high density Cabin Seating specifically for the BK117. With seat fittings hard-pointed onto the cabin wall, the space beneath is clear to be used for medical or search and rescue equipment. The seats are removable so the helicopter can be reconfigured as required.
Control Covers
Control covers prevent interference when the aircraft's dual controls are removed. Of lightweight carbon fibre construction, the covers attach to OEM mounting lugs.
Hoist Actuator Kit
The benefit of this modification is the reduced cost and time when overhaul is due. This modification installs a winch arm actuator kit to the BK117 -2 Rescue Winch System (P/N 117-83500-01). The actuator kit replaces the linear actuator that stows and extends the winch boom, includes a pair of arm plates, and accompanying hardware at the installation interface.
Zoll Monitor Mount
Flight Structures has developed a Zoll Mount (available in single or dual configurations) to provide a secure mounting for equipment. This allows medical staff to have inflight access to critical information. The key features of the mount are:
● Mount is hard pointed to the cabin wall;
● It is simple and easy to fit;
● It compliments the Stryker Stretcher System, also available from Flight Structures.
